*Below are just a few are examples of the types of slates that I have done according to the customers specifications. Often a customer will give me some photos to work from or just some ideas of what they are looking for. After brainstorming with the customer, I'll design the slate and email a photo of it before the slate is shipped.

This custom slate painting was requested by a customer who wanted to purchase a slate for her friend's gazebo to honor her parents memory. She wanted something to represent the "gates of heaven" and specifically requested flamingos.

This slate is a Crock lid which a customer won at a raffle at the Delta Heritage festival in Delta, PA. This town is the location of several former slate quarries, in southeastern York county PA. Every year in October they have a festival to celebrate their heritage as a slate quarry town. The customer spins wool ( and often gives demonstrations at the fair) so she wanted me to paint her favorite things-sheep, her spinning wheel, and her favorite wild flower, thistle.
This customer wanted her favorite quote by Mark Twain painted on slate. After discussing it through email, I came up with the idea of combining it with an old world map, since the quote mentions travel around the globe
